Well at the weekend I had a great time. I went with Lisa McLeod and her dogs and ran them on her rig. It was only a couple of miles and they seemed to prefer rolling in the dirt for the first part but it was sooo cool. (and the turned corners when i told them too :D )

I was hoping to go to a ralley at the Black Isle the first weekend of december but Brian is now going to be in Angola so i dont think I like the idea of going somewhere I have never been before all on my own. Might see if I can hitch a lift with Catheine (the breeder) or at least do a convoy there.

Not looking forward to Brian being away. Just got used to him being at home all the time again but we knew it would happen. I just didn't think it would be just a month and a half after he started his new job. I'm mostly worried about him going off to africa since its dangerous but Gusto will be there too so at least he will know someone over there. he will be in the workshop so he will have to take is malaria pills. Hope they dont make him as sick as a dog.

Anyhoo... back to work.... just in time for lunch. lol

Pups! part 2

Woohoo! Just got a message from the breeder this morning that her bitch is definately expecting and the scan shows 4 pups. This probably means there will be more because the ultrasound usually doesn't pick up all the pups.

It doesn't make too much of a differece cos we have been allocated pups 3 and 4. its just means we will get a bigger choice if she has more.

i'm so excited i might just pee my pants (if i wasn't at work! lol)

Got an email from Catherine the breeder yesterday saying that they have had two sucessful matings so with a bit of luck in about 4 months we will have to ickle pups at home!

We wont really be able to tell if she is pregnant for another couple of weeks but in the mean time Brian and I will probably be looking for a new 4x4.

Its all go just now.

On top of that i'm starting my new job on monday. Dont think the guys at work have got me anything yet but David asked if i like whisky. They had better bloody not get me anything like alcohol and whatever it is better be expensive since we spent £50 on Craig's leaving gift and he was asked to leave before he was saked.

No doubt it will be something cheap and shit since they haven't bothered thinking about it till the day before my leaving meal. God i'm so hard done by! lol

woohoo! Just got an email from the Breeder. Her bitch is now offically in season so she is planning on mating her the second week of October (or maybe sooner depending on the girls mood)

Lets hope everything goes as planned tho she does have a couple of contingencies (i.e. two other bitches are in season and another dog is on standby if the first doesn't perform! lol)

If all goes well the pups will be born around xmas and we will have a couple of new additions to our family 8 weeks later (mid february)

Fingers crossed. it will be weeks before we if the mating is sucessful.

Well I've taken today off because i'm getting ready to go off to Abu Dhabi tomorrow morning. (tho becuase of the terrorist scare all the airlines are not letting you take any hand luggage on board which means i'n in for a long and BORING flight).

My job is really getting me down just now. Although I have been busy this week and i'm off to do an install for a week I have done literally nothing for 6 weeks before that. I have been reduced to a glorified stores person with a degree. The highlight of my monday morning was going down to the work shop to rip up some cardboard boxes for the skip. WOOHOO!

I just sent me CV and cover letter off to Baker Hughes and i'm quitely excited about it. I really want to get an interview (and hopefully the job of course) cos I am so down where i am just now and the job sounds ideal as I can use my experiance from this job as it is using similar technology.

Its a Product development engineer designing condition monitoring and control systems. I wont hear anything till next week as the closing date for applications is tomorrow (Friday). God i'm getting impatent to hear back already! I really hope I get the job!

Going shopping later to see if i can get any light weight long sleve tops a can were while i'm working out in the ME. I'm sooooo glad Brian got home early so I get to see him for a couple of days before we both go off again.

Thats all for now. Ciao! lol

Quick Update

Jun. 7th, 2006 | 01:56 pm
mood: frustrated frustrated

Well I spent the last two evenings sorting out the jungle that is our back garden. I cant believe how bad it was. It was worse than the weeds you see along the dual carrage way central reservation! At least its all short now (tho give it 1 week and it'll be as bad as ever)

My arm and back are in agony now but I have to go out this evening so meet a nice lady called Lisa cos she is showing me her Huskies. Going to be walking them with her then she will be showing me how they have set up their house and back garden for them.

Work is as shitty as ever. More crap to deal with every day. Its bad enough that bastard customers stab you in the back when it suits them but then they turn around a few days later begging you to help them out again. Tossers!

And now I have my own collegues giving me shit and expecting me to be a mind reader. I am this close to flying over to Huston buying an AK47 and going Columbine on their asses! (well maybe thats a bit over the top but you get the genreal idea of how pissed off i am!)

Huskies!

I'm well excited. Just had an email from a breeder in Fife who gien my loads of advice. Apprently its difficult to predict the coat of their pups as good breeders dont use that as a factor when selecting pair however apprently she has a BIG soft spot for grey and most of her dogs are in fact grey/white and she said she would help us select the best ones for us.

And if we deside to work them she will help train them by running them with their mother first etc etc.

I just hope our home will be big enough for two of them and we can cope but she offered to let us come visit to see her adult dogs so we know what we are in for.

hmmm, what have i been doing since my last post??

Well Sunday i went with Kerrie and Slim to see the Da Vinci Code which was rather good. I didn't find it as good as the book, its a bit too slow pased for a film but they kept pretty well to the big except in a couple of details at the end. Thing that did piss me off with it is they made Sophie a totally useless tag along character even tho she is supposed to be a cryptologist. She didn't solve a single thing in the film but in the book she was just as cleaver and insightful and Langdon.

After the film we went back to the house to watch top gear, and Jimmer and Ross joined us. It was really nice having the guys round when Brian was away, made me fell like i'm their friend in my own right and not just Brian's missus.

This week at work has been a total nightmare. There has been no end to customers porblems until this morning (touch wood nothing else goes wrong) and i've been so stressed i've just gone home and crashed out in the evenings. Its a total bummer.

It didn't help that my weekend had been spoilt with being woken up on Saturday morning by the boss and Fraser and then disturbed in the shower on sunday morning by one of our customers having problems off shore. Spent both days worrying about work so it doesn't really feel like i had a weekend.

* I spoke too soon, just got another phone call with a problem *

Better get back to it!

Pissed off tho! Opened my pay slip and for the second month they still haven't given me my cost of living pay rise. Slack bastards. David will be getting an email tomorrow and they WILL be back dating my pay to the start of April.

Fucking cock lords!!!! Grrrr.

My First Post. Hmm.

May. 19th, 2006 | 09:08 am
location: In my office
mood: amused amused
music: stuff on Pandora.com

Well this is my first ever post on this thing and I have never been very good at keeping journals so i suppose i will just see how it goes. :-)

Brian has just gone offshore again so i'm feeling at a loose end however i'm not going to let it get in the way of doing fuck all work!

Just come home from Durka Durka land (or to be P.C., Doha, Qatar) and i tell you what, its a poop hole just now! They are hosting the Asian games and the whole city is a building site. they all drive like 5 year old's in dodgems and it smells funny at the best of times and like an open sewer at the worst. Yuk!

Good to be home, even tho its like 30 degrees colder.

Feeling pretty good for being at work on a Friday. My triumph this morning was that the car parked in front of my house all day yesterday and last night finally buggered off so i managed to move my car back in front of the house, instead of having to walk the extra distance to the door. The car is now going to stay there for a good few days just to make sure he doesn't come back and annoy me again! (that and i have to feed the leather seats and leave it for a few days) lol. Pretty lame eh?

It really wouldn't have pissed me off if the street was full but he was the only car parked on the road and he could easily have parked next to which ever house he was visiting. Just gets my goat that i have to walk an extra 10 yards to my front door when there was no real reason for it. grr!

oh, just incase anyone reads this who hasn't seen me in a good while, i want one of these...

isn't it just the cutest thing you ever saw! *swoon*

Hopefully when Brian and I get tho house finished we can think about getting a husky. The only real problem (other than the huge amount of excerise it will need) is the odd occasion both Brian and I are away with work.

I doubt I will be doing very much more travelling now we have a guy in Dubai doing the work out there and the work i do in (the not so) Great Yarmouth is going to be mostly done by their own sparky now.

Hopefully if we are both away i can find really good kennels or you never know, the husky owners community must be very small so if we join some kind of club or forum we may make new friends who would be willing to look after him for a couple of days when we are away (unlikely but you never know!)

Its all a pipe dream just now but hopefully by next year it will be looking more like a reality.

Suppose i'd better get back to pretending to work, eh?

Till next time, have fun peeps!
